February Virtual Classes
The Assessors’ Association of Pennsylvania (AAP) is pleased to again offer two virtual classes for recertification credits on February 11 – AI for Assessors and Spot Assessment. Both of these classes were offered at the recent AAP Fall Conference in November 2025. If you were unable to attend the Conference and are looking to earn some recertification credits, please consider signing up for these classes which will be offered via Zoom. Please see the online learning requirements for participation in the virtual classes.
Each class is offered separately, and you can register for one or both. Registration is $75 per class for AAP members and $100 per class for non-members.
*If you took either of these classes during the 2025 Fall Conference at Wind Creek Bethlehem, you cannot receive credit for them again in this recertification period.

9 a.m. to noon AI for Assessors
AI for Assessors is designed to help assessment professionals understand and embrace the growing role of artificial intelligence in property valuation. This course explores the history and fundamentals of AI, highlights its potential benefits and challenges, and introduces practical tools that can improve data collection, property analysis, and workflow efficiency. Participants will gain insight into advanced modeling techniques like gradient boosting, see how AI is already being applied in assessment work, and discuss the future of these technologies in the field. Our instructors will provide both a forward-looking perspective and hands-on understanding of how assessors can use AI to meet the evolving demands of their profession.

1 – 4 p.m. Spot Assessment – PA Statute & Court Decisions
Our instructors will discuss what the law defines as spot assessment and provide examples of what meets that definition with PA court decisions.

Virtual Learning Guidelines: Please review the AAP Virtual Learning Guidelines. The AAP requires that each student be on camera for the entirety of the instruction time for each class and have the ability to see and communicate with the instructor during class.
AAP Code of Conduct: All virtual students must adhere to the AAP’s Code of Conduct. Please remember that by registering for these classes, you are agreeing to adhere to the code.
Class Certificates: Certificates for both classes will be emailed to county chief assessors the week of February 23.
