Education is AAP’s main mission and the entire organization is geared toward continuously education members. Under the guidance of the association’s Education and Conference Planning Committees, AAP offers a wide variety of basic, intermediate and advanced classes on the assessment issues of interest to members. In addition to offering classes that allow members to earn credits during each recertification period, AAP also offers classes each year to prepare members to take the CPE exam.
One way to earn all of the credits needed during the two year recertification period is to attend the two AAP conferences held each year.
Annual Conference – The AAP Annual Conference is held each April or May and offers a prime opportunity to earn up to 15 recertification education credits. During this two and a half day education conference, the election for officers is held, service and achievement awards are presented during the Annual Banquet and the business of the AAP is conducted at the General Membership Meeting.
Fall Conference – The Fall Conference, held in October or November, is another way for members to earn up to 9 recertification credit hours during the one and a half day conference.

AAP Awards
The AAP Awards Program recognizes AAP members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of assessment and the state association. The awards criteria and nomination form can be accessed here.
The awards will be presented at the Banquet at the Annual Conference on the evening of Thursday, April 25. The Awards Committee (an ad hoc committee appointed by the AAP President) reviews the nominations and selects the award recipients. Awards for which no nominations have been received may still be given by nomination of the AAP Board and/or the Awards Committee. Award recipients receive an engraved plaque.
